Dentist Santa Ana
When was the last time you went to a dentist? Santa Ana residents, especially children, are encouraged to visit a dentist to maintain their oral health.
Generally, dental checkups are performed every six months. The American Dental Association (ADA), however, recommends that the frequency of a patient’s visits must be determined by a dentist. Santa Ana dental offices schedule appointments depending on the oral hygiene and medical conditions of their patients.
Frequency of Visit to a Dentist in Santa Ana
The primary reason to visit a dentist in Santa Ana or nearby areas is to prevent tooth decay and other dental problems. The “twice-a-year” rule doesn’t apply to everyone, however, since each patient has their individual dental needs.
So, how often should you visit your dentist? Santa Ana residents who take good care of their teeth and gums and haven’t had any cavities or gum disease for several years may lengthen the interval between appointments. On the other hand, those with advanced dental decay need more regular visits to a dentist. Santa Ana patients with higher risk of dental disease, such as smokers and diabetics, may also need a more frequent checkup.
Scheduling an Appointment With a Dentist in Santa Ana
When scheduling a checkup with a dentist, Santa Ana residents should remember this: It’s best to do it now than later. This is to avoid any further dental problems. You can then discuss the frequency of your follow-up visits to your dentist in Santa Ana after the initial appointment.
How to Find a Dentist in Santa Ana
When looking for a dentist in Santa Ana or its immediate vicinity, ask family and friends for referrals. You may also contact your state dental society for recommendations for a good dentist in Santa Ana and surrounding areas.
